We’re excited to announce that “Over the Falls” is a Contender in the current 2015 American Landscape Contest by Outdoor Photographer magazine!!
This is a view from the top of Nooksack Falls about 40 miles east of where I live in Bellingham, Washington. The rushing whitewater, the sculpted rock, and the dark evergreens combine to create a drama and sense of place that I hoped to capture. I was aided on this day by the mist rising from the bottom of the falls in the deep canyon below.
My art is driven by an impulse to share the mystery, awe, and wonder experienced while observing and interacting with the forces of nature.
For me the camera functions as a magical doorway to connect ever more deeply with the natural world.
I am particularly drawn to trees and the skies, hills, and water features that frame them. You may view my photo gallery and purchase prints at http://1x.com/member/jameskpapp. Thank you for visiting.
